Indiranagar, Bangalore
Indiranagar (Indira Nagar) is a neighborhood locality located in east of the Bangalore, Karnataka, India. The name Indira in Indiranagar itself appears familiar & well known which represents & reminds the great personality of India: Indhira Gandhi, the former Prime minister. And it’s true that the locality is named after Indhira Gandhi as Indiranagar in 1980's. Indiranagar was a residential area at the beginning when it was formed with a BDA (Bangalore Development Authority) layout, but with the boom of IT (Information Technology).
Indiranagar in addition to a residential area it also became one of the commercial arena’s of Bangalore. Indiranagar has an added value of its geographical site location as Indiranagar shares its boundaries with Vimanapura on the east, Ulsoor on the west, Byappanahalli on the north & Domlur on the south. Generally an area gets it place value mainly because of its surrounding borders or boundaries. Even Indiranagar too gained its geographical place value or site location value in Bangalore because of its surrounding borders which are prominent areas.
As, Indiranagar is in the vicinity of commercial zones of M.G Road, Brigade Road, Koramangala & Airport Road. All the boundaries of Indiranagar are so prominent that the residents of this area not only get benefit but also the Indiranagar got its commercial arena status because of them. Ulsoor has many temples of which Halasuru Someshwara Temple is the oldest one built in 16th century by Kempe Gowda & stands as Bangalore's heritage & for the architectural mix of Hoysala, Cholas & Vijayanagara patterns. Many supermarkets & fashion stores are located in CMH Road of Ulsoor which serves as the shopping spot for both Indiranagar & Ulsoor locals.
